An electrifying venue for new music, independent film and video, experimental theatre and so much more, Club SAW is a fully equipped performance space that is atmospheric, accessible and affordable.

Every year, more than 1,000 artists and musicians perform at Club SAW at key moments in their careers. A flexible space accommodating an audience of 289, Club SAW is a defining feature of SAW and contributes significantly to the character of the centre as a whole.

Equipped with a fully licensed bar and a state-of-the-art sound system, it is used for screenings, concerts, artist talks, festival hubs, panel discussions, conferences, book launches, theatre plays, receptions and workshops. Recently renovated, the new Club SAW has doubled in size and features a bar with a focus on local products, a deployable pop-up gallery, a green room for performers, an accessible stage, all-gender washrooms and a completely renewed courtyard.

Club SAW is a large and versatile venue accommodating up to 289 people indoors and 250 people outdoors including event staff. All Club SAW rentals include tables and chairs for seating set-ups for screenings, conferences and workshops.

For indoor standing events, the venue offers unobstructed sight lines for 200 guests in front of the stage. For outdoor standing events, the venue offers unobstructed sight lines for 200 guests around the outdoor stage.

For indoor theatre-style seated events, the venue can comfortably accommodate 75 seated guests in front of the stage. Elevated booth seating for an additional 50 guests is offered along the side of the venue. For outdoor theatre-style seated events, the courtyard can comfortably accommodate 50 seated guests on the paved area in front of the stage, with various options for seating on the elevated landscaped areas.

All rentals include full access to in-house audiovisual, lighting and projection equipment, as well as access to ancillary spaces including a green room (with a private shower and towels and toiletries provided) and a coat-check room that can be used by the renter (hangers and coat-check tags are provided).

Rental Inquiries

Rentals are subject to availability, and arts and cultural events are prioritized. If a rental is approved, the renter will be asked to provide detailed event information, sign a rental contract and pay a non-refundable deposit in advance of the event.

SAW is committed to supporting diverse artistic and cultural communities. To this end, SAW accepts sponsorship applications from organizations and individuals holding events that are in line with SAW’s mandate. In-kind support is granted in the form of a percentage of rental fees waived or an exemption from rental fees. Please note that SAW is able to support a limited number of events per year.
