SAW invites music fans and film lovers to congregate under the stars for a special edition of Summer Nights, a summer festival like no other. In anticipation of the reopening of its live music venue, SAW is pleased to present a program of music-themed films about pioneering music scenes and musical figures, along with music with live bands and DJs in the SAW outdoor courtyard.
The festival will take place over four weekends from August 5 to 28, 2021. Screenings and performances will be presented every Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 5PM to midnight, with a cash bar and snacks available for purchase. The major solo exhibition Shaya Ishaq. Library of Infinities will be on view at SAW during Summer Nights and will be open to the public every evening until midnight.
Summer Nights is presented and produced by SAW in collaboration with Also Cool Mag, the Asinabka Film & Media Arts Festival, Debaser, the Digital Arts Resource Centre, GenNext, Girls+ Rock Ottawa, House of PainT, the Inside Out Ottawa LGBT Film Festival, Max Ottawa, Sashay, Sitting on the Outside and spectrasonic.
In case of rain, events will be held in Club SAW.
A limited number of tickets will be available at the door.
